ORGANIZATIONAL DESIGN & CLASSIFICATION

Key Organizational Design Services Include:

  • Documenting workflow and assessing organizational changes required to implement plans and strategies to address future business directions, including cultural change, and identifying and addressing any gaps;
  • Performing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis;
  • Analyzing current and end state, developing options and recommending new organizational structures (could include costing);
  • Reviewing existing work processes and organizational structures to determine their efficiency and effectiveness, and making recommendations;
  • Performing job, activities and responsibilities analysis;
  • Discussing with management in order to clearly define the activities and responsibilities of a specific function and/or organization, and providing options;
  • Researching and developing policies, guidelines, procedures and tools;
  • Analyzing policies and business functional requirements to identify information, procedures and decision flows, and making recommendations;
  • Identifying areas for improvement within the organization, and facilitating small and large group processes, information sessions and management/project teams;
  • Providing expert advice in developing and integrating new organizational models to eliminate information and process redundancies, address gaps and requirements;
  • Identifying and recommending new organizational structures;
  • Identifying organization re-design, prototyping potential solutions, providing option scenario and presenting recommendations, potential courses of action;
  • Providing expert advice on and/or assisting in the implementation of organizational changes;
  • Providing expert advice in defining new requirements and opportunities for applying efficient and effective solutions, and identifying, providing potential options;
  • Analyzing results of surveys, interviews, documentation and activities review to determine job and work flow pertaining to new job functions and organizational structures, to identify potential problem areas, gaps and proposal of solutions/ alternatives, and any prerequisites to the implementation of the new job/organizational structures;
  • Conducting analysis/evaluation of the proposed organizational matrix and job structure vis-à-vis mandate, objectives, and recommending the required adjustments to facilitate the achievement of organizational goals;
  • Developing recommendations pertaining to proposed new job / organizational structures, job functions requiring review under various streams, and/or changes to existing classifications and levels;
  • Providing advice and guidance on organizational and classification issues such as policies, practices, tools and other types of support services;
  • Conducting organizational, job activities and (or) responsibilities analysis by identifying organizational options and associated pro's and con's for each option;
  • Identifying the requirement to create new positions, and recommending the  appropriate duties and responsibilities;
  • Preparing Organizational Change Proposal Reports and (or) justification to support the proposed organizational changes, which could include implementation plans;
  • Identifying the required modifications to the automated processes;
  • Articulating business requirements;
  • Providing advice in defining new requirements and opportunities for applying efficient and effective solutions, and identifying/providing preliminary costs of potential options;
  • Provide mentoring, coaching assistance, and/or training;
  • Developing and delivering training;
  • Evaluating performance frameworks, developing performance needs and reporting systems and processes;
  • Researching, analyzing data and reporting on activities;
  • Carrying out performance monitoring and reporting on activities;

Key Classification Services Include:

  • Leading organization and classification projects, following project management principles;
  • Providing advice and/or performing activities related to classification monitoring;
  • Developing and/or implementing functional communities organizational models and associated generic work descriptions;
  • Developing functional charting;
  • Developing generic work description frameworks, and developing appropriate learning tools for its application;
  • Reviewing, evaluating current work descriptions and recommending appropriate changes;
  • Developing and updating generic and specific work descriptions, and delineating responsibilities within streams of work;
